SLVDR SS19 Campaign | Glass Cabin - Palm Springs, CA

SS19 slvdr lookbook

The SS19 collection by SLVDR conceptualizes our PREMIUM / CALIFORNIA / CASUAL approach to modern menswear through quality materials, focused details and timeless design. Shot on location at architect William Krisel's Glass Cabin, a mid-century modern dream house in Palm Springs, the collection depicts the cool essence of thoughtful California living during the spring and summer.

A summer day stylishly spent in Palm Springs at on of architect, William Krisel's acclaimed homes. This classic, mid-century modern masterpiece, now known as "The Glass Cabin", became the location for SLVDR's SS19 campaign.

The house was designed by legendary architect, William Krisel, and built in Palm Springs, California by Alexander Construction Company in 1958. The Glass Cabin, as it is now known, was part of Krisel's pioneering and affordable vacation tract housing project that took over the famed desert town in the late 1950's. The houses were designed to be affordable and alluring modernist getaways for the budget-conscious consumer who desired a vacation home. Krisel's post and beam structured homes were modest in material and size, but intricately designed with variations of orientation and roofline, open floor plans with high beamed ceilings that integrated both indoor and outdoor living, lots of light and improved air circulation with clerestory windows, sheltered patios, and pools. These tract houses helped double the size of Palm Springs in the late 1950's, and of the 2,500 homes Krisel designed, (all of which still stand) the Glass Cabin is the premier representation of a modern masterpiece.
